Q:

I have a question which is not covered in this FAQ list. Whom should I contact ?

A:

Three email addresses are provided to help in sorting any issues that may arise:

REGISTRATION

Q:

What are the conference fees? Are one-day registration rates available?

A:

All the different types of fees cover the 4 days of the conference:

  • Regular: 320 Euros (early = until April 15); 420 Euros (late),
  • Student: 170 Euros (early); 220 Euros (late),
  • Accompanying persons: 120 Euros.

Q:

Is the "early registration deadline" a deadline for filling the registration form, or also for when the registration fee must be paid?

A:

The early registration deadline refers to the date until which fees should be paid. Payments with credit cards will be considered immediately. If a bank transfer is used, the deadline will be applied to the date the registration form is sent if the transfer is credited, even if some days after the deadline.


Q:

I only wish to join the dinner/a tour. Do I need to register as an accompanying person ?

A:

No, you need not. You may choose individual items, such as the dinner or the tour.


Q:

How early should I book for accommodation ?

A:

Our official travel agency, Abreu, has secured a large number of rooms in a variety of hotels in Lisbon at specially negotiated rates. However, early booking is strongly advised. After May 31, Abreu can not assure hotel availability.


Q:

What is your cancellation policy?

A:

This is described in the registration form. Written cancellations received until May 31 will be refunded less expenses. Until June 21 will merit 50% refund. After June 21 no refund will be possible. Hotel reservation cancellations policy: Changes in reservations will be subject to a tax of EUR 15,00

  • Cancellations received until May 31, will be refunded in full.
  • Cancellations received between June 1 and June 30, will merit 50% refund.
  • Cancellations received after July 1, will not merit a refund.

Emergency cancellations (serious illness, death of a relative or birth of a baby) can be refund if duly proved, 3 days before arrival. Notice of cancellation/change must be sent in writing. Extra expenses must be paid at the Hotel.
All this information will be included in the confirmation sent after registration.


Q:

Do have to register and pay before I submit an abstract?

A:

No. You may submit an abstract without having first registered for the conference.


Q:

I am a "Post-Doctoral Student". Do I count as a "student" for registration purposes?

A:

No.


Q:

Can I pay registration fees on-site ?

A:

Yes, you may register on-site during the 4 days of the Conference. On-site registration fees can be paid by cash or by credit card.


Q:

When can I get the receipt of conference registration fees?

A:

The receipt of conference registration fees will be automatically sent after the payment.


PROGRAM AND PRESENTATIONS


Q:

Do I need to submit a full paper? Will there be Proceedings? Are there any plans to publish papers presented at the conference?

A:

The acceptance decision is based only on the submitted abstract; no full paper is required, However, authors can submit their papers to several special issues of selected journals. The Conference Programme Book will include only the abstracts.


Q:

How long is the abstract allowed to be?

A:

The abstract must not exceed 600 characters, including spaces.


Q:

May/should I submit my abstract by email?

A:

No. All abstracts have to be submitted through the EURO submission platform, which may be accessed here.


Q:

May I submit more than one abstract?

A:

Yes, but each participant can present only one talk. Then, in case of multiple submissions, it is assumed that each talk will be presented by a different co-author.


Q:

How do I know if my abstract was correctly submitted?

A:

Besides the confirmation post which shows up immediately after the submission, it's possible to verify the submission by logging in again to the abstract submission systems. The abstract should appear next to the remaining information.
